dzwoniłam na lotnisko i powiedziano mi, ze raczej zwrot bedzie tylko za lot odwolany. na pytanie czy za powrotny tez zwroca, pani powiedziała że to zalezy od decyzji przewoźnika, w tej sytuacji mogą ale nie muszą, bo przeciez tylko jeden lot jest odwołany. i jak bede chciała powrotny przebukować to będę musiała dopłacić. jak odwołają to bede dzwonić do ryanaira.

Sprawdzilam z ciekawosci swoja polise ubezpieczenia turystycznego i taka informacje znalazlam na ich stronie:

"Important information regarding volcanic ash over the UK
Due to the flight restrictions imposed by the Air Traffic Control Service (NATS) following warnings from the Met Office that ash has the potential to damage engines; we have been receiving a lot of enquiries with regards to the validity of travel insurance policies. The Association of British Insurers have called an emergency meeting as the eruption is such an extraordinary event, therefore the situation outlined below could be subject to change. We are constantly in discussion with our insurers and will continue to update you as and when we receive further information.

Cancellation
There is no cover provided under this section, as volcanic ash is not considered as an insured event.

Travel Delay and Abandonment
No cover is provided due to the withdrawal of service temporarily or otherwise of the aircraft on the orders or recommendation of the Civil Aviation Authority. For this reason, cover is not in force as the authorities have grounded/ delayed flights as at 15 April.

In addition to this, insurers do not class this volcanic eruption as a weather event and, whilst most policies provide cover for adverse weather, this does not apply in these circumstances.

Insurers have advised no cover is in place for dynamically packaged bookings where clients have had flights delayed or cancelled, however if you are still overseas and are unable to travel back home you automatically have your insurance extended until such time you can travel home.

Czyli w sumie do tego samego doszlam czytajac ich polise. Nie pokrywaja sytuacji, gdy srodek transportu zostanie uziemniony/odwolany przez organizacje nadzorujaca transport.

Podobno niektore firmy zdecydowaly sie placic odszkodowania w tej sytuacji, glownie firmy nalezace do RBS.

Dobrze, ze na nastepne wakacje jade w UK.

Kolega z pracy utknal w Lapland. Nawet sie cieszy tylko szuka noclegow na te przedluzone wakacje.
